My Sega Genesis Cover of The Tower of Evil Mist from Castlevania Symphony of the Night | YM2612

Here's my Sega Genesis / Mega Drive version of The Tower of Evil Mist from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. This is the song that is played in the Outer Wall area. This was created in the free version of Deflemask and as always runs on actual Genesis hardware. Note: YouTube compression has messed with the highs in this song, the artifacts aren't there in the real version of the source videos on my computer. For those interested, I created the FM instruments (patches) from scratch inside of Deflemask. I used Dark Audacity to handle the samples. I used multidumperGUI to break the channels into individual wave files and I then used Corroscope to create the oscilliscope views for those channels. I edit all my videos in Davinci Resolve. All the tools used to create this are free. Last time I said Dance of Gold was the hardest song I ever worked on for Genesis. Well, now it's this one, this was WAY tougher. The song itself is more difficult with major timing changes and the symphonic sound was really hard to approximate on the Genesis' sound chips. Hopefully, I did an OK job, I'm sure you'll let me know one way or the other. I'm contributing this to Pigsy's remake/demake project. #castlevania #chiptunes #segagenesis #thetowerofevilmist #theouterwall #megadrive #playstation #saturn #deflemask #genesis #genesismusic #vgm #gamemusic #ym2612 #sega #genesisdoes #16bit #chiptune
