My Sega Genesis cover of Evil Cross Nightmares from Splatterhouse | YM2612
Here's my of cover Evil Cross Nightmare from Splatterhouse. This was created in the free version of Deflemask and as always runs on actual Genesis hardware. I've set up a Patreon and a Ko-Fi page for those who want to contribute to my channels. My Patreon page is / inglebardgaming and my Ko-Fi page is at https://www.ko-fi.com/Inglebard. For those interested, I created the FM instruments (patches) from scratch inside of Deflemask - there are no special tricks, just a lot of tweaking. I used Dark Audacity to handle the samples. I used multidumperGUI to break the channels into individual wave files and I then used Corroscope to create the oscilliscope views for those channels. I edit all my videos in Davinci Resolve. All the tools used to create this are free. Notes for this one... I did this for Master Linkuei to put into his Genesis homebrew port of Splatterhouse. It may not make it to complete game status, but that's cool, what he's done so far looks great and I recommend checking it out here: • SEGA Mega Drive - Splatterhouse Part I v0.... So this song was musically pretty easy and also short, so this one onyl took a few hours to complete, which is a nice change from the stuff I normally do. The arcade version of the song is a little weird. The TG16/PCE version sounds a little empty. So, for this one, its kind of a remix, I sorta of took sections from both of those versions and I added my own new percussion to it to get the end result you hear in this video. I sacrificed the third PSG tone channel (PSG 2) so I could have good percussion on the PSG noise channel. In the end, I like how i came out. But I don't know what everyone else will think, so leave me a comment and let me know if YOU liked it. Anyway, that's about it for this one. Oh, and don't forget to check out and sub to my (mainly) retrogaming channel! / inglebardgaming Catch you in the next one! #splatterhouse #chiptunes #segagenesis #evilcrossnightmare #church #chapel #megadrive #deflemask #genesis #genesismusic #vgm #gamemusic #ym2612 #sega #genesisdoes #16bit #chiptune
