The "Hanatabi Soya" train service finally began today! ✨ I immediately followed it along the Soya Main Line, capturing plenty of magnificent scenes of its northward journey. 😊 From the tranquil scenery stretching from Kita-Nagayama to Pippu, Wassamu, and Kenbuchi, to its powerful run through the vast natural landscape between Sakuragi and Otoineppu, there are many highlights to behold. In this video, I also aimed to capture passing scenes at stations like Tayori and the famous, secluded Nukanan Station, deliberately incorporating the "charming station buildings" into the composition rather than shooting from the platforms. ✨ The sight of the train slowly passing by the small station buildings evokes a nostalgic feeling. Towards the end of the video, I've included precious footage of the train entering the station just before Wakkanai Station, Japan's northernmost station, from the northernmost level crossing, as well as a slightly melancholic scene of the train departing Wakkanai as an empty train after its long journey.
