In Blacksburg, the Hokies defeated the Cardinals, 70-65, on an evening where Virginia Tech retired the #33 in honor of Elizabeth Kitley. It looked like the Hokies were coasting to a victory until a 13-3 run by Louisville cut the Virginia Tech lead to one with 1:48 left in the game. Virginia Tech remained composed and made their free throws down the stretch to pull out the win. Lani White scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Hokies. Carleigh Wenzel and Kayl Petersen each scored 12 points. Olivia Cochran had team-high 14 points and eight rebounds for Louisville.
