Narrowboats on Kennet and Avon Canal in Bath

Wednesday 30th October 2024: Today I visited a different part of the country and headed over to Bath, where the Kennet & Avon Canal begins (or ends, depending on how you think of it!). The canal joins the River Avon in Bath, after a series of locks, one of which is named 'Bath Deep Lock' and CRT describes it as the second deepest lock in the UK. It certainly looked pretty big to me! Along the towpath I passed a wide variety of boats - which I hadn't expected to see, as I'm more used to seeing narrowboats. I was also lucky to see a Pullman Train thundering along the railway which runs alongside the canal. So, lots of boats, trains, swans, and of course ducks, to see! Hope you'll enjoy the video!
