The Beethoven S.G.4 Transportable made by Montague Radio Inventions and Development Co., Ltd. This is a tombstone style wooden radio from around 1932. We had a quick look at it in yesterdays video, and it wasn’t working. I spent most of today working on the radio and we now have good clear audio form the radio for both Long Wave and Medium. However, there are some outstanding issue I need to resolve, but this is the radio that I’m showcasing today. It uses four battery valves: PM12M, PM1HL, PM1HL and a MP22A. All have 2V heaters. If this radio really was from 1932, then Droitwich was still under construction. I think this radio was slightly later as The Broadcaster service document is dated March, 1934.
