There are a couple of mountain roads above Santa Cristina Valgardena that open up incredible southbound vistas of Sassolungo. These roads aren't very long, so we are soon forced to turn east towards Selva di Val Gardena. The secondary roads still offer a better panorama than the main road at the bottom of the valley. I wanted to take this even further, but an unexpected road closure forced us onto the main route. Well, at least the legendary Passo Gardena doesn't disappoint - and we are here earlier than the last time.
