EPISODE #175 Preparing for Family Get Together!

Woof, the family is coming next weekend and we have a ton of things to get done! Elizabeth stayed longer and Joe left yesterday as he had to work. We got right down to work early in the morning. Elizabeth started blowing the leaves from the play house area. I will rake it later as the woodchips are so pesky, and we cannot do a proper blowing of the leaves. I will also remove all those green leafed invasive green leafed plants. Today is just a perfect day and the kids want to play in the water. We took turns watching them. I cleaned up and tweaked the rock and beach gardens, and then started raking the sand where I had not finished. The kids took to the water playing with a spraying toy that is just way too much fun!! Eva took it like a trooper; Carter not so much! 😊 Elizabeth and I just enjoyed their joy! We then moved by the bunkie as we have to clear a path for next week for the kids to access Fairy Stage safely during our scavenger hunt. We also moved the skids on top of the plywood pile to clear and minimize all the mess in that area, as well as move the limestone and gravel away to clear another skid, AND make more room. Boy that was hard on the arms as there were plenty of heavy bags to move. We had lunch and moved back to the beach after, for some chilling before resuming more clean up again…. I continued with more raking and Elizabeth blew more leaves past the play house by the boardwalk. We chatted by the garden later, as we were both amazed by the number of bees on the flowers, especially on the stonecrop!! After a brief chat, back we went to the beach again, before I headed up to Pirates’ Cove to trim the branches from the trees by the parking area. Elizabeth cleaned out the car before heading home. I am staying until after dinner, or then leaving early in the morning; it will depend on the traffic. It was such a productive weekend and we accomplished so much. It was the perfect balance of work and play!!
