Bucktail Deceiver para Tucunaré: Simples, Leve e Mortal #lazariflyfishing #flytying

In this video, I tie my version of the Bucktail Deceiver, a classic fly that looks simple at first glance, but becomes extremely effective when it is tied with purpose. The Bucktail Deceiver is directly connected to the Deceiver family, starting with the famous Lefty’s Deceiver, created by Lefty Kreh, and later evolving through Bob Popovics’ approach, which brought bucktail to another level in streamer design for predatory fish. This is not meant to be a textbook copy. It is my personal adaptation for big Peacock Bass, especially with the Lago do Manso in mind, where I plan to fish for good-sized Blue, Speckled and Yellow Peacock Bass. In this version, I focused on three main goals: adding more flash by extending it beyond the bucktail tail; keeping a full silhouette with very little material; creating a light, 13 cm fly that looks like a meal worth attacking. Bucktail has a major advantage: it retains very little water, keeps its shape underwater and allows for more comfortable casts throughout the day. Combined with Crystal Flash, Flashabou and Polar Flash, it creates light signals and movement that can be decisive in triggering a big Peacock Bass strike. The Bucktail Deceiver looks simple. But simple does not mean poor. Simple can be direct. Simple can be effective. Simple can be exactly what you need at the right moment. Fishing with flies tied by yourself is a completely different way of experiencing fly fishing. In this version, I tied a light-colored, 13 cm fly designed for big Peacock Bass at Lago do Manso. Very little material, a strong silhouette, the right amount of flash and one central idea: to look like a meal worth attacking. Do you use Deceivers for Peacock Bass?
