May 4, 2026 / Exploration of unanswered peaks in Taean — Wangdaesan Mountain, Myeongwolsan Mountain, Mangwolsan Mountain, and Sajumsan Mountain The field in May was getting deeper into light green before I knew it. A gentle wind slowly passed between rice paddies and fields, and the season was quietly walking toward early summer under a clear open sky. Among the 160 peaks of Taean, 34 unanswered peaks remain. Today, we walked the path leading to Wangdaesan Mountain, Myeongwolsan Mountain, Mangwolsan Mountain, and the last Sajumsan Mountain. At 8:40 a.m., I took the 990 bus from Seosan Terminal and headed to Taean. The light green fields and quiet village scenery outside the car window slowly created the atmosphere of the day. At 10:45 a.m., the hike began in earnest when I arrived at the head of the field near Beopsan 1-ri. As he climbed along the gentle path around the cemetery, he reached Wangdaesan Mountain (126 meters) at 11:22 a.m. The summit, where the triangle sign and the two tombs are located, was quiet and the wind was blowing through the forest. He hung a ribbon on the tree branch, leaving another unanswered record. After that, it moved along the road around the salt farm toward Mangwolsan Mountain. The green scenery around the waterway and the atmosphere of the quiet road naturally slowed down my steps. At 1:10 p.m., he climbed the second trail of Myeongwolsan Mountain (131 meters). On Feb. 10, 26, he rested while eating snacks in the sunshine and calm wind that permeated through the branches of the ribbon tree. He then arrived at Mangwolsan Mountain (130 meters) surrounded by lush forests at 1:56 p.m. He quietly hung a ribbon on the quiet summit. It was about 2 kilometers to the Sindeok 1-ri Public Security Center stop. It was an afternoon when I felt more comfortable staying on the road than rushing. There are about an hour and a half left until the Taean bus terminal and the return bus to Seosan, and I finally headed for Sajumsan Mountain. It was a short 4.7-kilometer round trip, but I slowly walked along the mountain path to reach the top (96 meters). He also left a ribbon there, setting today's final unanswered record. Today's hike is a total of 12.03 kilometers, and it takes 4 hours and 52 minutes. On the way back from the bus to Seosan at 4:30 p.m., the field outside the window had a calm spring color. With this hike, there are now 31 unanswered peaks of Taean's 160 peaks.
