Santa Fe up and over the Burlington Northern

March 11, 1993 Cameron, Illinois and the crossing of the Santa Fe (elevated) and Burlington Northern. 1) Conrail SD60I #5637, a Conrail SD40-2, a Santa Fe SD45 and a Santa Fe B23-7 are west bound on a long mixed freight on AT&SF tracks. 2) Burlington Northern 2704 and 2809,both GP39s race westbound along Railroad St with a mixed freight on Burlington Northern tracks. 3) A pair of Amtrak F40PHs slam under the Santa Fe with an eastbound California Zepher. 4) Literally 2 minutes later Amtrak P40 #813 leads a P32 east with the Southwest Chief on Santa Fe tracks. 5) ATSF GP30u #2712. a Santa Fe SD45 and a Santa Fe SD40-2 head west with a mixed. 6) In a typical long view, eastbound ATSF C40-8W #925 leads a pair of bluebonnets east with a mixed freight. 7) Santa Fe B40-8 7418 leads a pair of bluebonnets east with a TOFC train. 8) A Dash – 8 leads an A-B-A set of GP60s and a bluebonnet east with another TOFC train. 9) We’ve moved west and are at Santa Fe’s Media, IL crossing of Ellison Creek catching a Santa Fe bluebonnet lash-up of a U-36, SD40-2, SD45, SD40-2 with an eastbound trailer train. 10) The last clip finds us in Galesburg, IL where the BN crosses over the SF.
