Today I revisit one of my older videos from 2022 after many viewers asked to see some of my earlier walks around Valletta Malta. In this video I take a relaxing walk through the beautiful Lower Barrakka Gardens in Valletta often described as a forgotten corner of the city but never forgotten in Maltese hearts. This historic area overlooks the stunning Grand Harbour and has witnessed significant wartime history. During this walk I also visit the impressive Siege Bell Monument and take in the surrounding views before continuing my How To Find series walking from the centre of Valletta through what truly feels like an open air museum. The Lower Barrakka Gardens are twinned with the Upper Barrakka Gardens and feature the Monument to Sir Alexander Ball a neoclassical temple built in 1810 honouring Malta’s first British Civil Commissioner. The gardens also feature commemorative plaques dedicated to important historic events including the Hungarian Revolution Prague Spring Giuseppe Garibaldi and the European Union anniversary. This peaceful but historic location offers stunning harbour views fascinating history and a quieter side of Valletta worth discovering.
