English subtitles available – Bus traffic in the city of Groningen / NL – In the city of Groningen (The Netherlands) Qbuzz is the bus company, operating the bus network with many electric buses. Zuiderdiep bus stop in the southern part of the old city centre is served by many lines. 3 kinds of lines stop there. Buses running inside the city are called "Stad". Then there are buses going into the region around the city. They are called "Streek". Normally buses with the respective labels are used. The third part of the network is called Q-Link. These lines connect the city centre with larger residential areas and several park + ride lots around Groningen. Some of these lines are operated with articulated buses built by Heuliez. On line 6 Mercedes CapaCity L Diesel buses are also used. Some of the Heuliez buses are decorated with blue, some with violet side lines. Often (but not always) the colour stands for the group of lines on which the bus is running. Blue lines are north-south connections while the violet lines lead out of the city eastwards. Many different bus types are used at Groningen. Not only the Heuliez buses operate on the Q-Link network, but also VDL Citea articulated electric buses. They are often decorated with the colours of the 4 line groups of Q-Link, blue, violet, orange and green, they are meant to be used freely on the Q-link network. Then there are electric buses built by Ebusco on the lines in and around Groningen. Various types of buses built by Mercedes are used as well, like Citaro 2 LE (low entry) buses and eCitaro electric articulated buses. Finally there are also buses built by van Hool, running on hydrogen with fuel cells. The overland lines of Qbuzz are called Q-liner, building connections with larger towns and cities around Groningen. These buses only stop at larger towns, i.e. less frequent than streek buses.
