I colori in armonia e accordo. Esercizio imprescindibile con la pittura a olio
Colors in Harmony and Accord. An Essential Exercise in Oil Painting A video that explains how important it is, especially for beginners, to be able to find a common thread among all the colors used, a general tone that ties the entire painting together. When we paint a picture and reference something real, whether from life or a photograph, we're immediately struck by the colors, and the first thing we do is look for colors that more or less resemble those we see in reality or in a photograph. This isn't inherently wrong, but we forget that we're dealing with pigments and a square that will be perceived as a defined whole and therefore must have strong points in the light and dark areas and points of tonal balance. Oil painting is a beautiful practice that presupposes an understanding of color. What I mean by color understanding is an understanding of it before the actual creation, during the mixing and testing phases where we can test its properties. Once this is done, if we're new to a painting method, let's put aside color similarity for now and focus on making the hues we see in nature homogeneous, making them easier to paint and finding balance within the overall painting. This helps us transition from a monochromatic painting to a full-color painting. The color tone acquires brilliance only after we've performed certain chromatic transitions that help us become familiar with it and thus with the space we'll be painting in. I hope the video is helpful and inspires reflection on the use of color, and I wish you all the best. #mixingcolors #oilpainting #paintingforbeginners 0:00 - Intro 1:46 - Mixing the shared color and introducing the colors 2:58 - Applying the main colors to the substrate 4:28 - Applying the main colors with the addition of Van Dyck Brown and Raw Sienna 7:29 - The same colors as before with the addition of Cadmium Yellow 9:02 - For the blue mix, also with Titanium White 10:33 - Progressive mixes with the addition of both Cadmium Yellow and Titanium White 17:53 - How to get the maximum darkness from this mix 21:14 - End of the painting Brands of paints I prefer Schmincke Norma Professional link 🎈https://bit.ly/3FyT31I Old Holland link 🎈https://www.oldholland.com/ Maimeri link Pure 🎈https://bit.ly/3iKzVUV Michael Harding Link 🎈https://www.michaelharding.co.uk/ Windsor & Newton Link 🎈https://www.winsornewton.com/na/paint...
