(Morozumi's Story) https://wotopi.jp/archives/cat_summar... https://yomidr.yomiuri.co.jp/article/... (Kaori's Story) https://soramamekun.hatenablog.com ---------------------------------- (Greetings) This is the [Kidney Life Channel], brought to you by Kaori, who donated a kidney to her husband, and Morozumi, who received a kidney from him, based on their real-life experiences. In 2018, we underwent kidney transplant surgery between husband and wife, just one week apart. Now, four years after the surgery, we can smile peacefully thanks to transplant medicine, the medical professionals who have supported us for over 30 years, and our family and friends. However, before we both stepped onto the operating table, we faced many struggles. Our decision as a couple, family understanding, life planning, love, death… Although we completely trusted our doctors, we couldn't shake off fears like, "What if my donor spouse becomes ill?" "What if the donated kidney deteriorates soon after?" "What if the kidney transplant causes both of us to become ill?" To alleviate these anxieties, before our surgery, we searched for "testimonials from others." "Are those who have undergone kidney transplants living happily?" This is what we desperately wanted to know. However, finding people who had undergone transplants was not easy. With this background, the [Kidney Life Channel] aims to convey the information we wished we had known four years ago as clearly as possible, delivering information about kidney transplant medicine and kidney disease from a patient's perspective. We always speak with all our might. However, these are patient-perspective accounts, and may only be one sample among many. Ultimately, the more testimonials we have, the better. We will continue to interview transplant patients and medical professionals (please let us know if you'd like to hear from us!). We hope this channel will become a place where we can discuss kidney transplant medicine and kidney disease from a neutral perspective. Finally, Dear Kidneys, Thank you for your hard work today. Thank you always. Kaori & Morozumi Jinzo Seikatsu Channel- Kidney Life Channel, is brought to you by Kaori, who is a kidney donor to her husband; and by Morozumi, who is a kidney recipient from her husband. Both of us and our husbands underwent kidney transplant surgeries just a week apart from each other in March of 2018. It has been two and a half years since our surgery and we are all smiles and laughs together today; and it is all because of the great support from our doctors and their staffs as well as the support from our loving families. As married couples, we both respectively have been through a lot before finally being on the surgery tables. There were tough final decisions, understanding from each of our families, life planning, and discussing everything from love and even death. Fortunately, we trusted our doctors completely. However, we were still depressed with countless concerns, such as, "What if my partner gets sick because I took his/her kidney?", or ...
