Silver Peak in May: Can the snow hold on?

May in the mountains and we're still getting some turns in! It's wild to still be snowboarding this late in the season, showing just how strange the weather has been. We went hiking up to find some persisting snow for some spring snow turns, a reminder of the effects of climate change on our local peaks. #mountains #washingtonhikes Usually Silver Peak is solid for the entire month of May- but with a super low snowfall year, we find out if it still works. Splitboarding in Washington State in late Spring is easy to find and Silver Peak is a short hike and relatively easy objective for those that are starting out in the backcountry as well as fun for the seasoned veterans.
