In the face of climate change and numerous economic, social, and environmental challenges, a crucial issue arises: rethinking the city. In response to these challenges, David Morvant presents his vision of the Abidjan metropolis of tomorrow – a smart city that respects the environment, the quality of life of its inhabitants, and the efficiency of its services. Managing Director of Bouygues Energies & Services in West Africa, David Morvant is also President of the Abidjan Sustainable City Club. Launched by the French Secretary of State for Foreign Trade and the French Embassy in Côte d'Ivoire, the association was created in April 2016. Its genesis stems from a simple observation: by 2030, 75% of the world's population will live in cities, and 90% of the energy produced will be consumed in urban areas. Faced with these challenges, French companies have joined forces to work with Ivorian experts, decision-makers, and entrepreneurs to design their city of the future: a city that respects the environment, the quality of life of its inhabitants, and the efficiency of its services.
