Big news for Aira this year! In addition to announcing their partnership with Google Deepmind's: Astra AI! Aira is going hands-free via proper integration with modern Smart Glasses such as Echo Vision and Meta Ray-Ban! This is a huge improvement even though it was technically already possible to use Aira on those devices via a WhatsApp workaround requiring you to send new codes back and forth. But no need for any of that fiddling around anymore! Case for Vision: Sometimes the best AT solves a simple problem, that is where Ergo comes in! Ergo is a small magnetic attachment which provides a subtle kickstand for your iPhone. This stand includes an adjustable mirror which reflects your iPhone's built in cameras to provide a handsfree method of magnifying either close up or distance images. So whether you are reading a menu or watching TV, the Ergo can make it easier to do so hands-free. iPhone users are spoiled for choice when it comes to AT apps, but we recommend using the Case For Vision App for easy magnification, image freeze and capture, panning, color and much more! Orbit Research showed off their new refreshable braille devices: Strata and Flow. The major difference between these and their older TrueBraille displays is that these new models now have multimodal braille capacity thanks to the addition of piezo braille cells. The Strata Pro uses either 40 and 20 cell options, depending on the portability needs of the client. These Pro options offer perks such as: built-in applications, DAISY book access, online services, as well as speech and audio options. There is also a base model called the Strata 40 which is a more simple notetaking device that comes with translator, calculator and clock. Orbit's Flow model is a 40 cell piezo display which is specialized for use with computers or smart phones connecting via a USB. The Flow aims to bridge the gap between modern technology and braille by providing a responsive and robust display as well as ergonomic thumb keys to navigate through its menus and settings. Hable's tactile stickers, called Stactiles, are their latest product designed to help you label your environment. They feature a variety of symbols including: alphanumeric, arrows, braille, emoji, animal, and kitchen related reminders. These Stactiles are seriously tough, they can endure the heat and moister of a dishwasher without fading or peeling off surfaces. Stick them to anything from touchscreens to stainless steel! And in other news, Optaro by Eschenbach announced new XL options are now available.
