This devotional for widows shares a personal struggle in my widowhood journey but also shares the victory God gives through His deep steadfast love. Intellectually I knew that God is my Husband, my Defender, my Protector, my Provider, my all and all, and that He is surely enough, but I was still living like my life was just a place of loss and “not-enoughness.” This poverty mentality left me vulnerable to some underlying desires that I had been unknowingly feeding from one side while trying to stamp out and remove from the other side. I had been caught in a war, a battle between the conscious thoughts of truth that I knew intellectually and the subconscious thoughts, feelings, and emotions of loss, lack, and poverty. So while my mouth and brain said, “God is good and He is enough.” My heart was crying, “What can fill this hole, this void, the deep aching place that never gets full.” And in that unseen but deeply felt tension my emotions and my reasoning began a game of ping pong that never seemed to end. But God in His faithfulness revealed to me that joy comes from abundance and He has surely prepared in abundance for me His protection, provision, and direction. Angela has also published two books. This book shares practical applications from Scripture for everyday daily situations and decisions.
