Exploring Abandoned Train Tracks #railway
I found this abandoned railroad in Ossipee , NH. At some point on the first stretch I walked, it does become Private, according to the map. The other side is marked as a Snowmobile Trail. There was No Signage to the point where I walked , other than for Snowmobilers. I have since learned that the "W" on the post was a " Whistle Post", which alerted the Engineer of a crossing so they would know to blow the whistle .The Numbered Nail Heads are "Date Nails", which they used to identify how old the Railroad Ties are. Amazing unplanned Adventure, And I learned a couple new things about the Railroad. Thank You All For Watching. #railroad #trains
