"FUENLABRADA" Cercanias De Madrid C-5 (Renfe S446)

-----STATION INFO----- Fuenlabrada is a railway station located in the Spanish municipality of the same name, south of Madrid. It is part of the C-5 line of the Madrid Commuter Rail system and offers medium-distance services operated by Renfe. It offers a connection to Madrid Metro Line 12 via the Fuenlabrada Central station. The facilities are located at kilometer 18.8 of the Madrid–Valencia de Alcántara railway line. This kilometer marker corresponds to the classic route between Madrid and the Portuguese border via Talavera de la Reina and Cáceres. The section is double-track and electrified. The station was inaugurated on June 20, 1876, with the opening to traffic of the Madrid–Torrijos section of the line intended to connect the Spanish capital with Malpartida de Plasencia, thereby seeking a more direct link to the Portuguese border than the existing route via Badajoz. The construction work was carried out by the Compañía del Ferrocarril del Tajo. In 1880, this company became known by the acronym MCP, which referred to the Madrid–Cáceres–Portugal route, following the completion of the Madrid–Malpartida, Malpartida–Cáceres, and Cáceres–Border lines. Despite operating this major route, which had Delicias Station in Madrid as its terminus, the company never enjoyed good financial health and was taken over by the State in 1928, which created the National Western Railway Company to manage it. In 1941, with the nationalization of the entire Spanish railway network, the station came under the management of RENFE. In the 1980s, it was integrated into the commuter rail network and served as the terminus of Line C-5 until 2003. Since December 31, 2004, Renfe Operadora has operated the line, while Adif owns the railway facilities. The station runs parallel to Paseo de Roma. Nothing remains of the original passenger building’s functionality except for the classic café and the building itself, as the current, underground structure is a sober and functional single-story building housing the lobby, ticket counters, ticket vending machines, and turnstiles. The complex is covered by a semicircular roof. In total, Fuenlabrada has three platforms—one side platform and two central platforms—served by four tracks. All platforms are covered and accessible via underground walkways. It has a track that connects to two private sidings; one leads to the “Ferralca” steel factory, and the other belongs to the railway maintenance company Raxell (Athos Rail). The medium-distance services stopping at the station have Extremadura and Talavera de la Reina as their main destinations. MD, Regional Express, and Regional trains are used for this purpose. Since 2023, the station has offered a daily Renfe Proximidad service in the morning, which runs between Fuenlabrada and Illescas. Half of the commuter trains continue on to Humanes Station, while the rest turn back toward Madrid. -----ACCESSES----- |1| Paseo De Roma |2| Paseo De La Estación -----LINE INFO----- C-5 TERMINAL 1----Mostoles - El Soto | | PRE-STATION--La Serna - Fuenlabrada | | NEXT STATION--Humanes | | TERMINAL 2----Humanes -----CONNECTIONS----- METRO Line 12 CITY BUSES Line 2 Line 3 Line 4 Line 6 Line 13 DAYTIME INTERCITY BUSES Line 468 Line 471 Line 496 Line 497 NIGHT INTERCITY BUSES Line N498 Line N804 Line N807 -----NON STOPPING EXTRA----- Renfe Class 599 Raxell Class 269 ------------ MUSIC: Nimbus - Eveningland CONTACT SECTION: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/civialvaro/...
