Promulgation Day Speeches

The grand ceremony of promulgating the new constitution was marked with powerful speeches by the two principals, as well as Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka. The head of state saluted the gallant Kenyans who spearheaded the reforms agenda, and Kenyans in general for giving the new constitution a green light. Prime Minister Raila Odinga said the promulgation of the new supreme law had redeemed Kenya's image, after the bloodshed witnessed after the contested 2007 presidential contest as Kalonzo reminded Kenyans that the new dawn would only be realised once leaders shed off destructive, ethnic-based politics.
