Sulle vetture scoperte nel 2026. sulle chiatte nel 1997
Part two of the video from the inauguration day, Saturday morning, June 20, 2026, of the open carriages on their first journey with officials, the press, and Engineer Cantamessa (who strongly supported the carriages) on the 10 km Palazzolo-Paratico railway line along the Oglio River. In the early afternoon, at 2:20 PM (with guests still busy with lunch), a return trip from Paratico to Palazzolo with the inaugural train: the connecting rod 245 2176, a 35,485cc BRIF engine, led by the Centoporte Bz 39134 and the open panoramic carriages built at the Rimini OGR from old, dismantled RGS-type bogie flatbeds. The engineer was the dear, ever-kind Ellis Bertazzuol, with his brilliant young collaborators Gregorio and Lorenzo. At the Paratico terminus, beneath the impressive new hangar for the new third track (a further step in the Fondazione FS project, read Ing. Cantamessa), the beautiful Az 10062 type 1921 compartment carriage, the rare Corbellini ABz 38462 type 1951, a mixed first- and second-class carriage, and the DLM 92110 two-axle baggage car with interconnecting doors are on display. I tour the interiors of these magnificent rolling stock. The 245 maneuvers, jumps the carriages, and takes the lead on the Palazzolo side. In front, the beauty of the yew tree forest, with grey herons. We set off for Palazzolo. If this morning I took the inaugural journey in the cabin of the 245 with Ellis, now it's the open-air ride, in the open-top carriages (as the engineer says: without roof, without windows, without walls). Insert dated October 29, 1997: Arrival at Paratico in the cabin of 245 2183, built by Ferrosud in 1977, with the train of wagons for loading onto the barges. Maneuvers, with specially coupled shield wagons, in the large 10-track Rivatica yard (beyond the station and the manually operated platform). Final months of service. In three months, on January 30, 1988, the service will cease forever. The heavy barges, which have descended from the Italsider dock in Lovere across the lake, hooked to the sides of the tugboat Adamello (1916 hull), are maneuvered only by hand by expert operators and hooked to the mobile pier that adjusts the height of the rails in the yard to the current lake water level. I film at length the spectacular, unique maneuvers of unloading and loading the barges. Once the maneuvers were completed, I boarded the Adamello tugboat, which, with the barges attached to its sides, began its journey up the lake towards Lovere. Spectacular! A unique experience. Partly on the tugboat, partly on the barges. This combined transport was unique in Europe. A shot also, in the hold, of the marvelous Isotta Fraschini engine with its rods, springs, and rocker arms exposed (I'll correct this later in the next third part! I found the documents: the engine was an ANSALDO Q. 265/4338, 200 horsepower, Lohmann type 75 inverter, installed in 1963) and a shot of the captain in the cabin, with the large helm. In Lovere, we docked at the private dock in the Italsider basin... I'll post the images (not obvious, inside the Italsider!) in the next third part of the video of this very special day with the open carriages. I continue my ride on the open carriages of June 20, 2026, from the banks of the Oglio River to the hills of the Franciacorta vineyards... a journey that always surprises. We review the characteristic points of the line, with dedicated notes. In Palazzolo, the new carriage-jumping maneuvers, with particular attention to the oil leak from the tank, which, via a compressor, powers the large, indispensable engine cooling fan. We depart from Palazzolo and return to Paratico. INSERT, also from 1977, in the cabin of 245 2183 with the train of carriages from Palazzolo to the Paratico landing stage (called Rivatica). The journey is entirely in motion, with the various level crossings along the line with raised barriers and whistles, and the operator on the ground at the level crossing. We review the characteristic points, seen however in 1997. We arrive in Paratico and I end the video with an original plan of the entire line. Continued...
