Season 1: Beginning It's a dream that's about to come true - within three months, Immo Mäueler wants to drive from Germany to South Africa by car alone! It goes along the west coast, through more than 20 countries and, of all times, in Africa's rainy season. The journalist has already experienced a lot both privately and professionally, but what lies ahead will push him to his limits again and again! Every day he has to master unexpected challenges, face new problems again and again and constantly cross boundaries. Car breakdowns, bankruptcy, illness, danger to life and all in such a foreign world. A road trip full of adventure in which Immo never knows whether he will actually ever reach the southernmost point of Africa. Rescue on the tow rope 37:22 Outro Day 7: After a nasty night in the car, the border finally opens. Morocco is no problem, but entering Mauritania is said to be difficult. That's why Immo has booked reinforcements. He meets the Mauritanians Seydou and Oumar. They help him over and together they drive to Nouadhibou. They eat together from a bowl and then drive to a breathtaking cliff with a view of America. The day isn't over yet. While Immo is filming, the police come by and confiscate his camera equipment. Day 8: From Nouadhibou, Immo and his tour guide Oumar first drive to fill up with gas. Difficult in a country where many things are in short supply. And then they use the wrong fuel; diesel instead of petrol. It's a late start - to the capital Nouakchott. Day 9: In Nouakchott, Immo has breakfast with Oumar and Hady. A great view from the highest building in the city. Immo is also invited by Hady to his wedding in Mali! They are very happy, but it will never happen, which neither of them knows at the time. Immo drives to the Terjit oasis with Oumar. There the two hike through the palm forest and climb a mountain with an incomparable view. Day 10: From Terjit the journey continues to Chinguetti. Unfortunately the arrival does not go as planned. The Honda, which is over 20 years old, probably has a gearbox problem. In the hostel Oumar tries to call for help. They come, but get stuck themselves and cannot get the Honda working again. Afterwards the two visit the old town of Chinguetti to pass the time.
