Mexico-Canada Press Conference. National Palace From the National Palace, we celebrate the creation of the action plan between Mexico and Canada, which expands the coordination and structure of efforts in the political, economic, social, and cultural spheres of the bilateral relationship. This plan, complemented by the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), will have short-term results and direct benefits for both countries, such as increased investment opportunities, quality jobs, innovation, social justice, and shared prosperity. In Treasury Hall, we expressed our gratitude for Prime Minister Carney's commitment to strengthening the relationship and building a common future. We are united by migrant families, students, and Indigenous communities that share roots and traditions, as well as by the commitment of both peoples to peace, equity, and international solidarity. This Thursday's meeting between the cabinets of Mexico and Canada addressed issues of common interest; we emphasized the strengthening of trade and investment through the USMCA. This agreement has not only increased trade and investment opportunities; it has generated better-paying jobs, stronger supply chains, and more competitive markets. The USMCA is proof that when Mexico, Canada, and the United States work together, they can create prosperity, successfully address global challenges, and position themselves as one of the most dynamic regions in the world. We also discussed the agreement for Mexican workers traveling to Canada with special permits, in order to maintain this program. In addition, we discussed educational, cultural, and scientific cooperation, particularly in the areas of technological innovation and youth training, which represent the future of our nations. We also emphasized close collaboration on security matters, with full respect for the sovereignty of our countries; the goal is to address shared challenges in the region. Finally, we celebrate the steady growth of Canadian tourism to Mexico. We trust that the agreements reached today will continue and bear fruit in the short term.
