Sheffield city Centre might not be the first place people think of visiting in England — but is the steel city completely underrated? In this video I explore some of the most famous spots in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, to see what the city really looks like today. 📺WATCH NEXT: From busy shopping streets to historic buildings, theatres, squares and canals, Sheffield has far more character than many people expect. Starting at West street, we head through the heart of the city discovering some of its best-known landmarks along the way. Along the route we visit Fargate, one of the main streets running through the Centre, before reaching Sheffield Cathedral, one of the oldest buildings in the city. Just a short distance away is the well-known Peace Gardens, located beside the impressive Sheffield Town Hall, often considered the heart of modern Sheffield. The exploration continues through Tudor Square, home to two of the city’s best-known cultural venues — the famous Sheffield Crucible Theatre, which hosts the World Snooker Championship each year, and the historic Lyceum Theatre. We also stop by Leopold Square, a lively courtyard full of restaurants and bars, before finishing at the waterside setting of Victoria Quays, one of the most scenic parts of the city Centre. Sheffield is often known as the Steel City, but today it’s also a city of culture, history and surprising corners that many visitors never see. Sheffield is one of the largest cities in northern England and sits close to the beautiful Peak District National Park.
