Un imaginario rural: la dimensión espacial del amor | Punzadas Sonoras 5x19 | #RPS
In this episode, Paula and Inés explore the spatial dimension of romantic imaginaries: Where do we love? In what places do romantic relationships develop? Is our imagination more urban or rural? Following the intuition that love often unfolds in cities in fiction, the girls decide to consider the imaginaries that take place in rural areas. To do so, they read "Men with a Baby Tooth" by Luis Díaz and "Embodied Rural Geographies: Developing Research Agendas" by Jo Little and Michael Lyshon. Through these texts, they examine the relationship between rural geography and the body, exploring which bodies, identities, and relational models are permitted and which are viewed with suspicion. Beyond the more traditional perspective, they choose to imagine new possibilities through different themes: masculinity (silence and violence), female desire, and homosexuality (vulnerability and secrecy). All of this is explored through Bibiana Collado Cabrera's "Marcelino," Abel P. Pazos and María J. Miranda Suárez's "Technologies of Representing Queer Ruralities in Film: A Hermeneutic Conflict," Sara Mesa's "Un amor," and the films Roberto Castón's "Ander" and Francis Lee's "God's Own Country." Throughout this exploration, they argue that identities and imaginaries are not static, but rather transform and are constituted through interaction with the environment. This podcast is presented by Paula Ducay and Inés García, friends and philosophers. It is one branch of the Punzadas project, which organizes book clubs and literary and philosophical workshops. In each episode, the women reflect, in a fresh, entertaining, and rigorous style, on topics that matter to them through fiction, essays, film, art, and philosophical research. They bring together the reflections of key thinkers with their everyday experiences and anecdotes, touching on topics that affect us all and posing thought-provoking questions.
