Why This Threaded Mold Uses Motor-Driven Unscrewing Instead of a Thread Sleeve

This video is not about showing a complex mechanism. It explains an engineering decision behind a motor-driven gear unscrewing mold design. In this project, a traditional thread sleeve solution was intentionally avoided. Thread sleeves require extremely precise thread matching between the core shaft and the sleeve. In real production, even a small mismatch can lead to: • Parting line flash • Unstable separation • Damage to the parting surface Instead, this mold uses a motor-driven gear unscrewing system to fully control the rotation and timing of thread release. Each threaded core is internally cooled using a self-sealing rotary water union, ensuring thermal stability during rotation. The demolding sequence is clearly defined: 1) Mold opening to create functional clearance 2) Controlled unscrewing driven by motor and gears 3) Final ejection after thread release is completed This design prioritizes: • Motion control over tolerance dependency • Parting surface protection • Long-term mold durability and repeatability This is a design judgment based on manufacturing reality, not just theoretical feasibility.
