This road upgrade is part of the Shs 22.6 billion Kitooro–Kiwafu–Nakiwogo Road Project, designed to improve transport, reduce traffic congestion, and provide better access to the Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI), the National Medical Stores, the Nakiwogo Ferry Landing Site, and surrounding communities.
