Thirty years after my first visit, I returned to Amsterdam expecting to rediscover a familiar city. Instead, I found two different worlds. One carefully preserves centuries of history, where canals, narrow houses and timeless streets have become one of the world's most recognizable postcards. The other is still evolving. Across the IJ River, the former NDSM shipyard has transformed into a vibrant creative district where artists, designers, filmmakers, musicians and international organizations have found a new home. A place where history isn't simply preserved—it continues to be rewritten. This film is not a travel guide.
