Buses in Swords | June 2026

A video showing buses in Swords (north County Dublin), recorded in June 2026. Swords is the largest town in north County Dublin, and the main town in the Fingal local authority area. As such it is served by a variety of different bus routes. Dublin Bus offer services to Dublin city centre, while Go-Ahead Ireland provide connections to other parts of the north county. Go-Ahead Ireland also provide a regional connection to Ashbourne, while Bus Eireann offer regional services to Drogheda. Eirebus through their Swords Express brand provide express coach services to Dublin, and also operate a number of Local Link routes for Transport for Ireland. This video starts at Airside Business Park where Ashbourne Connect operate a shuttle service to Dublin Airport. There have been a few changes to Swords since the last visit in August 2024 [   • Swords Buses | August 2024  ]. Redevelopment work is taking place around the castle, which has the seen former main bus stop dug up, and a temporary one installed further up Main Street. Go-Ahead Ireland route 197 has been absorbed into the main TFI ticketing zones, which means regular StreetLite buses are now used on the route instead of the vehicles imported by Go-Ahead. Former Dublin Bus VG 48, now with Gormanston Coaches, makes an appearance in this video too.
