Civil Air Patrol Cadet Flight Training
Rod Rakic Episode 008 CIVIL AIR PATROL CADET WINGS Just sharing my own experience as Auxiliary Airman. I first started to learn to fly as a Cadet in the Civil Air Patrol. I was 16. Come along for some pilot training with a CAP Cadet. Since 2001 I’ve served as an officer in the CAP. The Civil Air Patrol is the auxiliary of the United States Air Force. (I explain this as kind of being the Air Force equivalent of being a volunteer firefighter.) As a flight instructor, I’m volunteering time to support the Cadet Wings program. This is an initiative funded by the USAF to stem the pilot shortage and bring more diversity into the pilot community.
