Chasing UP 4014 Big Boy in 2026? Expect BIG Crowds, Screaming Children & LOTS of Police!

My chase of UP 4014 Big Boy in 2019 taught me many things that I hope to use in 2026 as I get ready to drive south toward Illinois on Thursday. I will be one of thousands chasing Big Boy across Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. That might be an understatement! In rural areas and through the hills, it may not be too bad but once you hit populated areas the crowds and POLICE just get out of hand.. Although trespassing does trigger them quite a bit, so don't do that.. If you do choose to get trackside, do yourself a favor and measure (OR ASK) where the 25ft mark is so you don't get pushed back by police like I did! LOL BEST PLACES TO MEET ME ON SUNDAY, JUNE 7 (BIG BOY RESTS) Mad River & NKP Railroad Museum at 11am, going inside at 11:30am. They charge $15 and I hope you're willing to DONATE that to them.. By 3pm I was to be at Fostoria Iron Triangle Park. It's an hour drive from Bellivue.
