KanaTV – Masters at Work – Mahlet Afework – Fashion Designer

Mahlet Afework, or Mafi, is an Ethiopian fashion designer who explores traditional African cultures through her work while embracing the comfortable, western-inspired t-shirt and pants look. Mafi started her career as a model and rap artist before shifting to fashion and is entirely self-taught via Google and YouTube videos. Ethiopia is a country with more than a third of its population within the ages of 15-35, and often most of the talent that is emerging goes by unnoticed within the country.
