Blue Mountains Lookout Everyone Misses | Vale of Avoca Hike

We checked out the Vale of Avoca Walk in the Lower Blue Mountains and ended up finding one of the most underrated hikes near Sydney. It starts at a dramatic lookout over the Grose Valley — a spot we jokingly called the “Hanging Rock of the Blue Mountains” — before descending deep into the valley below. From there, the trail drops roughly 300 metres into the wilderness, eventually reaching the Grose River. Down at the river, you can go for a swim, explore the trails along the water, and enjoy one of the most peaceful sections of the Blue Mountains before making the climb back up.
