Kia Niro EV Reduction Gear Noise - My EV Has A Problem!
I love my 2021 Kia Niro EV, that has now done over 114,000kms. But unfortunately it does have one issue. It's developed an known issue where a grinding, ticking, clicking sound can be heard coming from the reduction gear in the drivetrain. This is commonly referred to online as the "wheel of fortune" noise. This is not an issue with all EVs, or even all Kia EVs. Just a few specific Kia and Hyundai models that were made a few years ago.
