Georgia Central Railway in the 1990s - GE “U-Boat” U30B and U33B Locomotives
In this video, C. Vision Productions explores the Georgia Central Railway in the mid-1990s, with footage provided by videographer Dan Hadley. The railroad was well known for its fleet of General Electric “U-Boat” locomotives, and you’ll see models U30B and U33B in operation. Beginning in Lyons, Georgia, we’ll follow the railroad’s westbound road freight to Dublin, where they’ll meet their eastbound counterpart out of Macon. The Georgia Central is comprised of former CSX trackage that was spun off in 1990. Genesee & Wyoming purchased the railroad in 2005.
