Launching of the Development of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS)
GSIS Headquarters Building, Pasay City July 1, 2026 Demonstrating the Marcos Administration’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 16, which promotes peaceful and inclusive societies, access to justice, and effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels, the Presidential United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) Inter-Agency Committee (PUICom) formally launched the development of the Philippine National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) at the GSIS Headquarters Building in Pasay City on July 1, 2026. The National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) is a whole-of-nation roadmap under development to combat all forms of corruption, uphold integrity, accountability and transparency, and restore public trust in Philippine institutions. It is being formulated by the Presidential UNCAC Inter-Agency Committee (PUICom), under the leadership of the Office of the President (OP), in partnership with the University of the Philippines - National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG). This effort aligns with the country's commitments under the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC), which the Philippines signed on 9 December 2003 and ratified on 6 November 2006. The strategy seeks to unify the country's anti-corruption efforts under a shared vision, common principles and coordinated actions across all branches and levels of government. It also recognizes civil society organizations, the academe, the private sector and development partners as active partners in advancing integrity and accountability. This launch formally introduced the NACS initiative to stakeholders whose support and technical expertise will help shape the strategy. It also marked the first major milestone in a consultative, evidence-based and inclusive strategy formulation process designed to gather perspectives from national policymakers to grassroots organizations, consistent with the participatory principles promoted under the UNCAC.
