Wintersturm oder Sturmwinter? Orkan und Sandsturm - Überwintern Spanien - nichts für schwache Nerven

A friendly hello to all you mobile vacation enthusiasts! We're reporting from Costa Calnegre. And that's how a day here could begin, but things didn't go as planned. A sandstorm with hurricane-force gusts was brewing, and the YouTuber's workplace became dangerous. If you want to know how we survived this ordeal, and whether we returned safely from our trip to Turtle Bay, then please hop on board and follow our adventures. These included a scooter accident with consequences, a campervan fire... Oh yes, we also witnessed a forest fire. But let's start with a relatively new campsite near the Paracuelos campsite. The Aera Sol Calnegre campsite is almost adjacent and is still under construction. Both campsites are easily visible from above. The weather forecast was making itself known and hinting at new problems. However, the next misfortune occurred right next door. A nearby camper van caught fire, presumably due to a short circuit. The owners were having dinner at the restaurant across the street. With exemplary effort, several campers, along with a campground employee, extinguished the fire using the campground's fire extinguishers. This prevented further damage to surrounding vehicles. No photos or videos were taken. Others saw nothing wrong with this and documented the event. It's a matter of personal choice. We'd be interested in your opinion on this. The pet inside the vehicle did not survive the fire. Everyone just wanted to recover from the excitement. But things turned out differently. As mentioned, the weather forecast indicated that more trouble was on the way. A storm with hurricane-force gusts was expected. The storm started slowly before it became serious; Santos must have sensed it. All the dogs were taken for a walk, followed by a windswept haircut. Tents and anything else that could easily fly were taken down. ... The palm trees were put to the test in terms of stability, and the winter storm turned into a sandstorm with far-reaching consequences. The wind granted me a brief respite, which suited me just fine, as I still had an important task to complete. It was Sunday morning, and I needed to upload a YouTube video. So I took refuge in the bar, since it has good Wi-Fi. The bar's heavy curtains became playthings of the elements, and my laptop was also reluctant to cooperate. The screen became a wobbly mess. It simply refused to stay still. Afterward, the weather improved, albeit in a very peculiar light. The storm's aftermath was once again quickly cleared away, and only a few traces remained of the severe weather, during which we wondered at what wind speed a camper van actually tips over. Certain members of our tour group found the storm damage quite interesting. The locals also found the little agility training session amusing, and a Spanish-German dog friendship quickly developed, which our senior dog didn't seem to care about. Our GNS YouTube colleague was also active, and I'm sure some nice pictures were taken there as well. We met up with some friends again for dinner, including... With Christa and Herrmann from the YouTube channel "Chonroad." And for those who thought that was enough bad news, there was more to come. Our dear holiday friend Conny missed a pothole during an excursion and crashed her scooter. The fall led to an ambulance ride to the hospital in Catagena and, shortly after, a medical flight home for surgery. Sending Conny our best wishes and get well soon! We realized the condition of the partially washed-out road quite late... But we were lucky; the road held, and we returned safely to our campsite. Now, time to get some sleep; tomorrow we're off on a big trip. We rented one of the campsite's cars. We puttered along through the countryside, past the first signs of spring. Yes, we had big plans for our winter getaway. However, our plans were completely thwarted by the weather and overcrowded campsites. The weather was so miserable all around, Many campers from southern Spain, Portugal, Morocco, and northern Spain all fled to the Strip, and all those seeking relaxation gathered in the lower part of the east coast... But anyway, we had a pleasant time and are now heading home. We quickly emptied our waste and took a short break to enjoy the sunshine. Then it was onto the motorway and off we went north.
