(R1) Different Hitachi lifts [Lobby C] @ Sunway Putra, Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur

📸 16/02/2026 — The building was opened and owned by Metroplex Holdings in 1987, featuring a shopping mall, offices, and a hotel. In 2011, this building was acquired by Sunway REIT and underwent a major refurbishment two years later. The building was reopened in 2015, now known as Sunway Putra Mall (formerly "The Mall") which features more than 300 shops while Sunway Putra Tower (formerly "Putra Place"), an office building occupies levels 10–34. Its carparks are located in two basements and on the podium levels 5–8. The building is connected via a link bridge on level 1. The lifts were originally installed by GoldStar in 1995 and replaced by Hitachi in 2014 during refurbishment. Lift lobby C, which had six lifts split into two (C1 & C6) serve mall floors only from basement 1 to level 8 which were VFI-II models run at 1.75 m/s (105 m/min) but they can get busy as well, and the other four serve offices up to level 33 (C3 & C4) or level 27 (C2 & C5), and also serve the main hotel lobby at level 9, and some mall floors, functioning as mall express lifts skipping levels 1–4; the fireman lift (C3) does serve these floors, but the HOPs were deactivated. They were HVF models run at 4 m/s (240 m/min)—adequate but could be faster, opted for UVF models at 5 m/s (300 m/min) for office use travelling 30–36 floors (109–130 meters). All of them had B95 buttons with dot-matrix indicators and stainless steel cabs (the fireman lift had its cab padded which also doubles up as a service lift when needed). Any landings use HLS-025S hall lanterns, while the ground-floor landings use HSDX hall indicators—mall lifts use the same on all landings. The mall lifts used to serve the office floors—their former fixtures can be found on levels 9–20. The lifts were less shaky and well-maintained, but the noises were coming from the motors at full speed.
