KIXE 1974 Auction Segment

This is a portion from a 1974 KIXE (Redding, California) public TV station annual auction. What is unusual about this 2" Quad recording is that it was made in the low-band monochrome standard at 7.5 I.P.S. (a speed normally used for black & white programs only) on an RCA TR-5 but had enough chroma/burst information for the third-generation Ampex AVR-1 to make a color picture. There is some channel to channel chroma bandwidth/phase discontinuity most likely due to black & white designed channel amplifiers that were not intended for chroma information. The record engineer at the time (1974) had no idea that color information was being recorded! www.dcvideo.com
