GREEN MED EXPO & SYMPOSIUM, A SUCCESS IN NAPLES FOR THE THREE-DAY RICICLA.TV EVENT The seventh edition of the Green Med Expo & Symposium, organized by Ricicla.tv, Zucchetti Ambiente, and Ecomondo, concluded at the Stazione Marittima in Naples with over 50 exhibitors and over 20,000 attendees. The circular economy was at the center of the debate. PACKAGING RECYCLING: THE NEW AGREEMENT STRENGTHENS FEE MONEY, BUT THE CHALLENGE REMAINS INDUSTRIAL The new industry agreement strengthens financial support for the separate collection of packaging, aligning the fee with the European principle of covering 80% of efficient costs. For municipalities and consortia, however, the real challenge remains the development of an industrial policy. RENTRI, MASE OPENS AN INSTITUTIONAL WORKSHOP The Ministry of the Environment has announced the establishment of a working group with trade associations to address the regulatory and operational issues that have emerged in the implementation of the Rentri. TEXTILES WASTE, THE CHALLENGE OF EPR Extended producer responsibility (EPR) for the textile sector is expected to come into force by 2026. Producers, consortia, and second-hand operators discussed the sector's prospects at the Green Med Expo & Symposium. MUNICIPAL WASTE, UTILITALIA: "STRENGTHEN EPR AND GOVERNANCE TO ACHIEVE EU OBJECTIVES" The 2026 Green Book by Utilitalia and Utilitatis highlights how the real challenge for the waste sector is no longer increasing separate waste collection, but rather increasing effective recycling. Closing the gap will require full implementation of extended producer responsibility, increased investment, and a more balanced network of facilities across the region. Regulation is also a key issue. ORGANIC WASTE, CAMPANIA CHANGES PACE New facilities are under construction and agreements for the use of compost on agricultural land and public green spaces. Campania is changing pace in organic recycling, from being the last-place region to becoming a national best practice for biowaste.
