More than a thousand protestors gathered on Canal Street last night, to demand answers for the family of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, who was shot to death by an ICE agent in Magnolia Park Tuesday morning. We discuss with a pair of elected officials who represent the neighborhood: Houston City Council member Joaquin Martinez, and Texas State Senator Carol Alvarado. Then community members of Houston’s East End talk about how this week’s shooting is one of many developments that frustrate them about their neighborhood. Plus, a conversation about guns and gun violence with longtime public radio host David Greene, who’s led a series of such conversations across the country, chronicled in a documentary being screened here in town tonight.
