Enrique Aguilar sobre "La democracia en América" de Alexis de Tocqueville

In 1831, the Frenchman Alexis de Tocqueville was sent by the French government to the United States to analyze its prison system. He spent nine months traveling across the country, observing not only the prisons but also many other aspects of American society, such as the economy and politics. Upon his return to France, he wrote his famous book, "Democracy in America," a political analysis of republican representative democracy and the reasons for its great success in the United States. Enrique Aguilar, Professor of Political Theory and Director of the Doctoral Program in Political Science at the Catholic University of Argentina, will present this work.
