Yin Yoga for the Spine 2

Yin Yoga is a slower practice targeting the connective tissue of the body, and working into the energetic pathways associated with Chinese Medicine, the meridian lines and their organs. This practice works with the spine, forward folding, back bending and twists, creating greater flexibility and working with the meridian lines of the Kidney and Bladder, Liver and Gallbladder and upper body Channels of the Lungs and Heart. The teacher offers variations of each pose, which makes the yin practice accessible and inclusive to all body types. This is one of the major principles of yin yoga, and is often omitted from classes, so it great to see this in all Yoga in the Smoke videos. There is also allusion to the emotional, mental and physiological benefits of the poses, relating it back to the origins of Chinese Medicine. The teacher is also a qualified acupuncturist and treats in London.
