Twitter @juangangel Currently, the world is being affected by excessive plastic pollution, greatly increased by the arrival of the Coronavirus, putting the environment at risk. In Colombia, approximately 163,000 tons of plastic material are recycled annually, thanks to the hard work of recyclers and processing industries. Today we went to the municipality of Guarne, Antioquia, where we visited a plastic processing plant and learned about the entire process that plastic undergoes to finally become what is known as "plastic lumber." Synthetic lumber is a material manufactured from wood waste and selected recycled plastics, resulting in a more durable material that requires less maintenance. The term is also used to refer to entirely synthetic compounds whose finish imitates the appearance of natural wood.
