Back in the MOUNTAINS: Beautiful Roads, Dropped Bike & the Kindness of Strangers | Ep. 5

After three days in Beaverlodge — where Alex balanced remote work with the constant pull of the open road — we were finally moving again. First stop: Grande Cache Municipal Campground, nestled back in the mountains after days of flat, endless prairies. Just seeing the peaks on the horizon again felt like coming home. From there we rode into Jasper National Park and the landscapes did not disappoint. Breathtaking views around every corner, the kind of riding that reminds you exactly why you planned this trip in the first place. Then came the moment every motorcycle rider dreads. Searching for a campsite at Wilcox Creek Campground, the terrain got steep and Ilmingo went down. Alex couldn't lift it alone, so I went looking for help. By the time I returned with a group of campers, an RV had also pulled up and everyone pitched in together. Ilmingo was back on his wheels thanks to the kindness of strangers. Again. We didn't stay long — the mosquitoes were absolutely savage. Minutes in and we were being eaten alive. With every campground fully booked on a weekend, we tried our luck at Waterfowl Lake Campground. Full — but we asked around anyway. A father on a motorcycle camping with his daughter offered to share their spot without hesitation. One of those moments that restores your faith in people. Next morning, a quick stop in Banff and then on to Calgary — our next base, and the start of a new rhythm. Mountains on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Work on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The adventure adapts. It doesn't stop. The road finds a way. So do the people on it. 🌎 👇 Have you ever dropped your bike on a trip?
