On September 20th, I went on a private ayu fishing trip to Kumamoto, Kyushu. This was a spontaneous ayu fishing trip with no set schedule, and my goal was to catch a shaku-ayu. This was my wife and I's first time on a river in Kumamoto, and we didn't know what to do, so we asked around and got information from various people. On the first day, we cast our rods at the Kawabe River, a tributary of the Kuma River. We struggled at first, but there was a twist at the very end... Check out the video to see the end result.
