A village characterized by optimism, growth and progress after the opening of the new road which made travel along the fjord possible by car. Leksvik, with its 3 quays, was known as a goat village with agriculture, fishing and sawmilling as a source of income. With the new road opened, Circus Arnardo finally came to the village Leksvik also owned Odd B. Sportsware Factory, which was a successful supplier of ski poles to the Norwegian skiing elite in the 1960s and 1970s. New industry, Leksvik Edelmetall (BJØRN LYNG) established itself in the village, which brought new buildings with, among other things, an S-team, Sparebank, council house, retirement home, petrol station, shops, bakery and population growth, which in turn changed Leksvika from Geitbygd to Industribygd Quay 1 was located by the sawmill on Hammerberget, and was used for shipping timber. Pier 2 was Rønningkaia which was located by Rønningstua, the meeting place from the 60s to the early 2000s. Dock for the Frost boats, among others Quay 3 was located by Østre Samvirkelag in Kroa, which at the time was the center of Leksvika, also a quay for the Frosta boats but also the shipping of dairy products from the silingsstasjoen in Kroa.
