Colt-Starting a 3-Year-Old Friesian: Zeppelin’s First Day

This video is packed full of information, education and demonstration as I take you into my first day of training with this beautiful, 3-year, former Friesian stallion named Zeppelin. This video is also part of a NEW colt-starting video course. Send us an email if you would like to be included in the announcement of it’s release https://www.taoofhorsemanship.com/. I work with this young, unsure, timid colt for the first time and turn him into a more confident, trusting and safe horse within minutes. I introduce my method where I focus a lot on rapport building, where relationship is the number one building block and foundation to training with trust and confidence. I’m also spending my first session with him getting to know him, assess who he is so I can better understand his nature and any learned behaviors he’s acquired that I may want to change. There are so many important factors that need to be included and a part of a young horse’s education and new training. Especially important when they are young and inexperienced. So often young horses are rushed in their training, not given enough time to understand what you are asking them to do. This is a big problem, and a main issue I see with training in general and what creates an unconfident learner in your horse. In my work with horses I always make sure they become confident learners, no matter what age, history or experience. Confidence is what teaches the horse to trust you and what develops a safe horse. Enjoy and I look forward to seeing you in the comments!
